Our Anniversary

We recently celebrated our first anniversary, and it was such a special day.  I worked the prior night, so once I got off work, I came home and slept for a quick three hours, and then drug happily got out of bed to spend the day with my sweet husband.  When I came downstairs, the most beautiful roses were sitting on our kitchen counter, along with a sweet card and letter.

Of course, there were a few gifts, as well:  a Target gift card and a gift certificate for a Couple’s Massage at an amazing spa!  Lee knows that I love Target (bordering on an addiction), and one of our favorite things about our honeymoon was our massage!  He had stressed so much about finding the perfect gifts, and I think he did a wonderful job.

Lee got a few gifts as well:  a new Gamecocks shirt as well as tickets to his choice of a Carolina football game.  He also got a new pistol, something he had wanted for quite a while.  My husband loves the Gamecocks and is an avid believer in the 2nd amendment, so I think I did a pretty great job!

After lounging about for the majority of the day, we got ready to go out to dinner.  Lee had made reservations for us, and I had no idea where we were going.  I love surprise dates!  We arrived at Larkin’s on the River in downtown Greenville, and I was beyond excited.  I have heard wonderful things about Larkin’s, so I was more than happy to give it a try!  It definitely lived up to all of our expectations.  Our food was incredible.  We can’t wait to go back.

After dinner, we took a quick stroll through Falls Park and then returned home to enjoy some one year old wedding cake. Despite how it sounds, the cake was actually just as delicious as it was on our wedding day.  My mom did a great job of wrapping it in plastic wrap to savor the flavor.   (Thanks, Mom!)    It was the perfectly sweet ending to a very special day!

Our first anniversary was such a great reminder of how happy we have been during our first year of marriage.  We can’t wait to see what the future has in store!
